A brisk southerly came through last weekend and was felt throughout the South Island with snow even falling in Christchurch!

With heavy snow on the forecast DOC decided that without proper experience the Paparoa Track could become quite treacherous. It was decided to close it for the week and looking at the photos below you can understand why!
