About our Vehicle relocation and carpark
We offer a vehicle relocation service to bring your vehicle to Punakaiki so it is ready for you at the end of your walk. Our cars are NOT left in the carpark overnight and are instead picked up on the day and parked inside at our Blackball depot. This is the only closed-in carparking in Blackball.
Cars are then moved from the depot to Punakaiki Beach Camp where we park cars ready for your arrival, this way clean clothes and supplies are ready for you at the end of your walk. Punakaiki Beach Camp is located right opposite the end of the Paparoa Track, so is an obvious place to park and stay to recover from an epic few days on the track.
At the Punakaiki Beach Camp we have a secure car-park for Great Walk guests. This is the only secure car parking in Punakaiki and a great place to leave you car full of gear ready for you at the end of your walk. Punakaiki Beach Camp is located right opposite the end of the Paparoa Track so an obvious place to park and stay to recover from an epic few days on the track.

We offer a car relocation service for people wanting to drive themselves to the start of the track. Our vehicle relcocation service also includes free parking inside our depot in Blackball and then our carpark at Punakaiki.

Vehicle relocations with less than 72 hours notice to pickup: $246.
If you get your car relocated with us you can also pay $8pp to have a shower at the end of your walk.
Carparking without any track services is $20 per car per day.
- When you finish your walk, cross the road to the Punakaiki Beach Camp and your car is right there!
- It’s always better to leave your car in a secure spot. Our Blackball depot provides an inside parking area and following there the Punakaiki Beach Camp will always have a watchful eye looking over it!
- Once finished, load your bikes, packs and gear in the car and you're ready to go.
- It’s super easy to book! Just book your accommodation (holiday house, cabin or campsite), book your transport and you are good to go!
